So....a Suzuki Cappuccino huh?
As mentioned in a previous post, there are a sort of "big 3" of sporty Kei cars: Autozam AZ-1, Honda Beat and Suzuki Cappuccino. The internet sleuth that I am, I did a bit of research comparing each of the three models. I eliminated the Autozam due to availability and price (and apparently the suspension geometry is not very good). Since I have owned a Honda Civic Si (EP3) and also driven a S2000, I seriously considered a Beat. However, in my research I found the Beat seems to lack low end torque, and is not the best daily driver. I also don't love the looks, and it is a soft-top convertible. So that leaves the Cappuccino.
So lets get into the Cappuccino. The Suzuki is powered by a 3-cylinder, turbocharged engine, good for 63 hp. I am a huge fan of turbo cars, and love the low end torque in a turbo car. Plus, the gas mileage is over 40 mpg. The Capp also has 50/50 weight distribution, and is a removable hard top. It is also the best riding and most appointed of the big 3 (according to reviews). It actually looks like a mini Honda S2000. The used prices for these are also completely reasonable and within my budget. Parts can be found relatively easily, and how many Suzukis do you see on the road?
So now that we have laid out why a Cappuccino, here is what I am targeting:
